A Better Way

The Book of Hebrews

In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son.—Hebrews 1:1–2

Imagine being taught to worship God a certain way your entire life. Then, suddenly, you are told that what you have always done is no longer necessary. You worshiped the old way, as did your parents and their parents before them. Now you are being told something new!

It’s hard for us to imagine what it must have been like for Jewish believers in the early church. The book of Hebrews was written to help them (and us) understand why Jesus is the better way. Hebrews inspires us to live by faith, putting Jesus at the center of everything.
